Girl Crush: Zooey Deschanel

In hindsight, I could've seen this coming, but this week officially cemented my girl crush on Zooey Deschanel...
This week, the trailer for her upcoming film, '500 Days of Summer' was released. Admittedly, I've watched the trailer about 5 times and think this could quite possibly become my favorite movie of all time. It looks like the film equivalent to a good cry -- real, bittersweet, heart wrenching, cathartic. To confirm my suspicions, my roommate was lucky enough to attend a screening last night and reported back with a resounding 'yes, caroline, you will love this movie.' I may have to resort to some dubious tactics to snag a screener of this one -- don't know if I can wait until July 17th. While my roommate was sneakin'-a-peak of Zoe & Joe on the silver screen, I found myself lucky enough to attend the M.Ward & Delta Spirit show at the Music Box where Ms. Deschanel graced us with a special, though not surprising, performance with her once and future(?) collaborator, M.Ward. So, thank you for adding that oh so lovely Zooey Dechanel-ness to my week - not sure if it's forever - but for now I think you're just swell.

A little self-conscious, but a lot bored...

So here I am...
Going against all I believe in...

blogging.

I blame lent and what I gave up for it. My belief that 40 days and 40 nights without Facebook would lend more time for focusing on more worthwhile pursuits: work, reading, writing, knitting sweaters for the homeless; has quickly been squashed and replaced by an even lower and more loathsome form of time wasting: blogging. With my nose pointed high in the air, I'd always proudly and self righteously excluded myself from the ranks of the self-indulgent and egocentric bloggers. Who gives a s**t what I think anyways...even I don't give a s**t what I think. So to avoid spiraling down into an even deeper cycle of vices and self-loathing -- I vow to keep this 'blog' (she shudders with disgust, as if having bitten into a bitter kumquat that had not yet ripened) as a forum for posting links, random findings, and daily musings. Oh God, I've gone and said 'daily musings' -- I can already tell this is going to be worse than re-reading old diaries from a 7th grade ginger kid. Only this time, I'll refrain from signing my posts 'Caroline DiCaprio'
